# Failure updating ROS workspace (install FUNMAP depdency step)

Hi @keshavshankar and @ris7188, the error log states [uv](https://docs.astral.sh/uv/) isn’t installed. We recently started using it to manage Python Virtual Environments. Can you follow these [troubleshooting instructions](https://docs.hello-robot.com/0.3/installation/ros_workspace/#uv-not-found-failure) to install it, then try again.

There’s another related issue that Allen has reported in [Help Needed: Build Error with stretch\_funmap Due to Numpy Dependency - #5 by allen](https://forum.hello-robot.com/t/help-needed-build-error-with-stretch-funmap-due-to-numpy-dependency/1191/5). If you get the same error Allen is having, let me know.
