Hi!

I am currently trying to run the Voice Teleop example on RE3, but when I run
ros2 launch respeaker\_ros2 respeaker.launch.py in the terminal, it returns the error \<\< PY\_SSIZE\_T\_CLEAN macro must be defined for ‘#’ formats \>\>.

Some things I’ve tried was installing pycryptodome and updating systemd-python to version 235 (from 234). Unfortunately, neither solved the issue.

Please let me know if there is a fix to this issue, and thanks!!

Hi @dsquid, welcome to the forum! Looks like the pyaudio library had a [breaking change](https://stackoverflow.com/a/70358664/4753010) that causes the bug you’re seeing. The fix is to simply update to the latest version:

```auto
pip3 install --upgrade pyaudio
```

We’ve [patched this](https://github.com/hello-robot/stretch_install/commit/08110bddce3badc95a6f3e8cb7aa8ea30fdf3716) on our end, so new robots shouldn’t have this issue.
