Using the Battery Health Tool

Note: This tool can show false readings if users do not follow the procedure below

The Battery Health Tool, allows users to get some insight on the current state of health of the Stretch’s battery. For accurate results it is recommended to follow the listed steps below

  1. Ensure the robot is fully charged by checking the battery charge, please see The Battery Maintenance Guides (Stretch RE1 and Stretch 2) for more details.
  2. After charging, unplug the charger and continue to have the robot powered off for 10 minutes
  3. Close all other applications before running the battery health tool
  4. To run the battery health test in stretch diagnostics, type in the following command in the terminal:
    stretch_diagnostics_tests --single test_POWER_battery_health
  5. Once the test is complete, you can see the status of the battery by scrolling up on the terminal, as shown in the image below.
