Stretch not powering on (during unboxing)

Hello Stretch3 community,

Our lab recently received our Stretch3 and I was following the unboxing instructions and went to power the robot on for the first time, however the LED did not light up and there was no perceivable response from the robot. I then followed the battery maintenance guidelines and tried to charge the robot with the Genus 10 charger in 12V AGM mode but after ~10 minutes the charger switches to standby mode. I am hesitant to measure the Voltage in the robot battery to check if it the battery is empty because there was a warning in the documentation that doing so may short the battery ( Battery Maintenance - Stretch Docs ). I am also hesitant to follow the steps in “Recovering from Low Battery Voltage” by putting the charger in Supply mode when the robot is powered off because I am not sure whether or not that would create an issue ( Battery Maintenance - Stretch Docs ). What should I try to do now?

Additionally, we noticed that when we first unboxed the robot, that there was a piece of yellow-tinted colored tape that held the power button in the ON position as well as a USB that was inserted in one of the USB ports. Not sure if this is normal or not since these things were not mentioned anywhere in the documentation.

Hi Victoria, so sorry for the inconvenience. Something must have happened to the battery during shipping (we do a final power test before shipping the robot). Someone from the support team will be helping you get your robot up and running as soon as possible!
