Upgrade kit for Stretch 2

Hi all,

recently, I received upgrade kit for our existing Stretch 2 stretch-2-upgrade, however I am not sure on how to replace it. Is there any documentation, video as well as program (to run for calibration check) to help me upgrade the gripper? Thank you.

I have started on a journey towards upgrading stretch2 to strectch3.
is there any Documentation available?
Can i run the stretch2 with Ros2 directly without having rewrite the Software as both 2,3 run ros1 and ros2 respectively.

Hi @Sahruday, we have an installation guide for the upgrade. Would you email support@hello-robot.com + include the serial number of your robot?

Regarding ROS2, you can dual boot your Stretch with Ubuntu 20.04 for ROS1 Noetic and Ubuntu 22.04 for ROS2 Humble. This allows you to use both versions of ROS on your robot, but not simultaneously. Unfortunately, the API is quite different between ROS1/ROS2, so if you have an application written in ROS1, you do have to rewrite it for ROS2.
